I awoke this morning to a top secret envelope with the words "Detective: Beth Lehman" written on the front. I opened it and found thee files inside, all with maps to different locations around the town and instructions for each location. I took the first file and began the investigation.
The only information I was given about this scene was that it was a message and that I should pay attention to the red. I didn't know what it all meant yet, but I knew there were two more pieces to the puzzle. I wondered if I would get paid for all this effort, or if I was just a pawn in the game of an unknown Captain. I looked into the second folder and started my journey across town to find the second clue. I was going to see this thing through. I would worry about getting paid later.
The second clue was short but the perp had gotten creative, drawing a picture of a couple of cuddly fish getting cozy. Again my notes told me to pay attention to the red. "YOU" and "WILL" and some hearts were the only red things I had seen so far. I could only hope the third and last location would bring meaning to this mystery.
On my way to the third site, I got a text from my thus far faceless Captain telling me to stay cool and stand against the fence. I stood there smiling when Brad rounded the corner and immediately produced a little box. He asked me to marry him and I said yes. :)
The paycheck for my work was well worth it.We've set the date - 12/21/2012. It's an apocalypse wedding, ya'll.
